Community Engagement in Bair: Updates from the Second Consultation Meeting

The second consultation meeting with residents of the Bair neighborhood was successfully held as part of the project BAIR – Bitola’s Joint Action for the Inclusion of Roma. Organized by the Preda Plus Foundation, the event aimed to inform the community about ongoing activities and gather input on key issues.

Project Updates:

📚 Education: Campaigns to increase first-grade enrollment and the distribution of backpacks and school supplies to all first-graders.
🏅 Sports: Public relations initiatives to promote eight successful Roma athletes, with stories shared on the project’s Facebook page and national web portals by the end of October.
🎨 Culture: Launch of an Art School for children aged 10–14, located at the Dimitar Vlahov Community Center. The school will run until the end of October, culminating in an exhibition on the theme “Life in Bair.”

Promoting Accessibility:

The meeting also highlighted the services of the One-Stop-Shop System (OSS) established within the project. This system brings public institution representatives to the Dimitar Vlahov Community Center weekly, following a predefined schedule, ensuring easier access to essential services for residents.

Discussion Topics:

  • Access to public services
  • Education initiatives
  • Census 2021

The event showcased the collaborative efforts to enhance education, sports, and cultural opportunities in Bair while addressing key community concerns.
