Prespa’s Potential for Smart Agriculture and Digital Innovation Featured in Sitel TV Documentary
The documentary “Every Drop for Prespa,” broadcast on Sitel TV, highlights the development potential of the Prespa region through the integration of technology, agriculture and entrepreneurship.
Part of the documentary focuses on the work of PREDA Plus and the PLUS Accelerator in Resen, as well as on the opportunities created by the existing LoRaWAN network to support the digital transformation of the region.
Blagojce Kolicoski explains how LoRaWAN coverage across Prespa can enable the wider use of IoT sensors in local orchards, providing farmers with easier and more affordable access to real-time data. Such technologies can support better-informed decision-making, more efficient use of resources and the modernization of agricultural production.
Building on this infrastructure, Lidija Angelkova presents a broader vision for using the LoRaWAN network and IoT technologies as a testing environment for entrepreneurs, startups and students.
The concept is to create opportunities for innovative digital solutions to be developed, tested and validated under real-life conditions, positioning Prespa as a potential living lab for smart agriculture, experimentation and rural innovation.
By connecting local challenges with technology, knowledge and entrepreneurial potential, the existing digital infrastructure can contribute to new opportunities for sustainable development and innovation in the Prespa region.
